Educational Systems in Saudi Arabia and South Korea
There are several similarities and differences in regard to time spent in school between Saudi Arabia and South Korea. The first similarity is how these years are divided. For example, in Saudi Arabia, there are three levels: elementary school, which is divided into six years, intermediate school, which is divided into three years, and high school, which is divided into three years. Similarly, in South Korea, there are three levels: elementary school, which is divided into six years, intermediate school, which is divided into three years, and high school, which is divided into three years also. The second similarity is how many hours per day students are at intermediate school. Both students in Saudi Arabia and South Korea spend 6 hours at intermediate school. The final similarity is how many weeks of vacation there are, and when  the vacations are. Both students in Saudi Arabia and South Korea have four months of vacation to spend . For example, in Saudi Arabia students have three months of vacation in summer, ten days of vacation in winter, and ten days in spring. Students in South Korea have three months of vacation in summer, and three weeks for Christmas vacation. There are three differences between Saudi Arabia and South Korea in regard to educational systems. The first difference is how many years  students are required to attend school. For instance, students in Saudi Arabia are required to attend school for twelve years, whereas in South Korea students are required to attend nine years, however in South Korea after the students finish the intermediate school, they have the option to complete their studies or to stop and go to find work. The second difference is how many hours per day  students are at elementary school and high school. In Saudi Arabia, students have to spend five hours per day at elementary school, but in South Korea low elementary school students have to spend four hours, and high elementary school have to spend six hours. In high school, student in Saudi Arabia spend six hours. On the other hand, students in South Korea spend eleven hours. The final difference is how many days per week students attend school. In Saudi Arabia students have to attend school for five days, whereas students in South Korea have to attend school for six days. Although there are many similarities between Saudi Arabia and South Korea, there are some differences between them too.

  2. Haha :-) Lore,
    I don't think that it's special.
I think it natural that high school students are in school for 11 hours per day. :-)
